It would be unfair for children to bear the brunt of restrictions, expert says

"It would be especially unfair If we once again chose to keep businesses open while forcing children to start the school year with online classes," Plamena Nikolova of the National Network for Children has told BNR.

She expressed concerns that students would bear the brunt of restrictions at the beginning of the school year once again, as a large number of new Covid-19 infections are expected.

According to the expert, adults should carry the burden of restrictions for some time and children should continue to attend classes until the closure of schools became absolutely necessary. "We have done too little to protect the interests of children during the coronovaris crisis and it is easy to impose restrictions on them," Plamena Nikolova added.
