The Bulgaria National Football Team drew 1:1 with Italy in an away world cup qualifier in Group C. Federico Chiesa gave Roberto Manchini’s team a lead in the 16th minute of the match and Atanas Iliev scored for Bulgaria in the 39th minute.

Bulgaria earned its first point in an official away game against Italy. “Our players should feel more self-confident after their latest performance against Italy. There aren’t any popular footballers in our squad, but as a team we are strong enough to oppose any opponent”, Bulgaria’s coach Yasen Petrov commented after the match.
