On the occasion of Unification Day, marked on September 6, the National Museum of Military History takes us 136 years back in time with the exhibition named “Sofia – Capital of Unified Bulgaria”. A special map presents 12 locations in the capital city connected with the historical events surrounding the Unification of Bulgaria:https://militarymuseum.bg/embeds/map-unification-sbw/map-unification.html/
The historical narrative is enriched with the memories of the people who witnessed these events, as well as with animations that illustrate the historical facts.
A touch screen application presents the role of the local institutions, public and private buildings. The exhibition features personal belongings of Prince Alexander I Battenberg, Stefan Stambolov (Chairman of the National Assembly), Vasil Radoslavov (Minister of Justice in the cabinet of Petko Karavelov), Captain Konstantin Nikiforov (Minister of Defense), etc.
