From September 10 until September 30, Bulgaria’s southernmost town of Zlatograd hosts the traditional festival dedicated to the legendary Delyo Voivode.
This year’s edition of the colorful festival is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the foundation of one of the country’s most remarkable ethnographic complexes. A photo exhibition in the covered bridge located in the old town traces the twenty-year history of the ethnographic complex.
The guests of Zlatograd can see a rich collection of paintings named “The First Ladies of Medieval Bulgaria” displayed at Stanislav Stratiev hall.
The reenactment “A market day 100 years ago” is among the most impressive events during the festival. It will take place on September 18.
The film “Zlatograd Ethnographic Complex - Past and Future” by Bulgarian journalist and traveller Simeon Idakiev will be screened on September 19.
All festive events are held in strict compliance with the anti-epidemic measures, the festival’s organizers told Radio Bulgaria.
