Whether a third dose of COVID-19 vaccines should be administered in Bulgaria will be decided after the European Medicines Agency evaluates the data on the application of the additional dose. This was decided by the Expert Advisory Board for the Supervision of immunoprophylaxis. Experts believe that the efforts of the healthcare system at the moment should be aimed at increasing the vaccination coverage among non-immunized citizens, the Ministry of Healthcare announced.

A Eurobarometer survey shows that only 39% of Bulgarians believe that everyone should be vaccinated against coronavirus as part of their civic duty. This is the lowest level in the EU, where the average support for mass vaccination is 66%.
