The National Revenue Agency is launching total tax control of trade in fuels, the Agency has announced.
It will monitor the movement of every litre of fuel to the final sale at filling stations. In the past two weeks, fiscal control teams from the agency have been monitoring tax warehouse exits and have inspected more than 4,500 vehicles intended for delivery of fuel to the entire network of filling stations. The trucks of the traders, deemed to be high-risk traders, are being sealed and their movement is monitored up until the point of unloading at the final point of sale. More than 500 tanks have so far been sealed. As a result of the enhanced control a 15% increase has been registered in the amounts of fuel sold.
