The 40-year-old striker of Beroe FC, Martin Kamburov, has become the top scorer in the history of the Bulgarian premier league.
Kamburov scored his 254th goal and brought his team a 1-0 victory against “Tsarsko Selo”. In this way Kamburov broke the record set by legendary goal scorer Petar Zhekov back in 1974. The winner of the "Golden Shoe" in 1969 had 253 goals in his football career, but it should be pointed out that Zhekov played in the Bulgarian premier league until the age of 30.
