The new school year has started in the whole country in compliance with the anti-epidemic measures. A total of 2,357 schools welcomed over 706,000 students. Nearly 59,000 of them are first-graders.

In his welcoming speech to the students, teachers and parents, the Minister of Education Prof. Nikolay Denkov wished them a successful start and full attendance throughout the school year. "We welcome it more experienced, prepared and responsible; more knowledgeable and capable, and therefore more confident. I believe we can do it together," the minister said. Only seven districts out of a total of 28 have the required number of teachers in the classrooms. There are 436 vacancies for teachers in the country and most of them are in Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna.
