Annual inflation in August accelerated to its highest level since February last year mainly due to higher fuel and food prices, according to data from the National Statistical Institute.

The annual growth of consumer prices in the eighth month of the year reached 3.7% compared to 3% in July. The monthly inflation in August compared to July is 0.8%, and since the beginning of the year - 3.1%. Compared to July, prices for central gas supply have risen by more than 10%. Diesel and petrol are now more expensive, which also affects transport services. When it comes to food, there has been a rise in prices for fruits and vegetables, as well as for some types of dairy and meat products.
