Drastic rise in Covid infections and deaths

2,360 new coronavirus cases were registered in this country in the past day. These are 1,902 cases more in comparison to September 20th. 9.55% of 24,719 tests returned positive result, according to the Single Coronavirus Information Portal. Like every Tuesday, when the results of the previous week are summarized, statistics show a drastic rise in the number of people infected with coronavirus and Covid-19 related deaths. However, the percentage of newly infected slightly decreased by 0.12 percent.

The number of registered actively ill patients has reached 39,728 and 4,879 patients are in hospital. 388 infected people are in intensive care. 138 people passed away, compared to 43 on Monday. 1,228 patients recovered.

7,555 vaccines have been administered for a day. There are 1,281,766 people in Bulgaria who are now fully immunized.
