President Radev: Borissov could try to defend honor of his party by running for president

"It is high time that Boyko Borissov stopped using his party as a shield. He should defend its honor by running for president," President Rumen Radev has told reporters. According to him, the reason of GERB and other parties not to announce their candidates for president and vice president yet, in order for them to avoid criticism, was not valid.

Speaking about the situation in the energy system, the President pointed out that the caretaker government reacted quickly and started "dismantling the mine laid by previous rulers in the energy sector." That is how for a third week in a row, electricity prices in Bulgaria are among the lowest in Europe.

President Rumen Radev also said that in early September Kristalina Georgieva, who was accused of changing data in favor of China during her time as chief of the World Bank, had asked for a working meeting with him in order to speak about global trends in the economy, inflation and possible consequences for Bulgaria.
