Bulgaria's Minister of Foreign Affairs Svetlan Stoev has awarded the Bulgarian national Adriano Sitnilski with the Golden Badge of Honour of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for his dedicated activity in evacuating the citizens of the Republic of Bulgaria from Afghanistan and for his assistance in taking out of the country of a longtime employee of the Bulgarian embassy in Kabul and his family.

"Saving every human life is a lifelong pride, and you did it not for one, but for many people," said Minister Stoev at the award ceremony.

Thanks to the assistance of Adriano Sitnilski in Kabul in August 2021, the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs successfully deported five Bulgarian citizens, one Pakistani and one Afghan citizen from Afghanistan. Until the last moment before he was evacuated, Sitnilski also supported the efforts to evacuate the employee of the Bulgarian embassy in Kabul, Amruddin Hakshenas, and his family out of the country.

The Golden Badge of Honour of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the highest award of the Ministry for Bulgarian citizens.
