10.7% coronavirus positivity rate in Bulgaria in past day

1,228 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Bulgaria in the past 24 hours out of 11,505 tests performed, indicate data of the Single Coronavirus Information Portal. 10.7% of the tests returned positive result. 85.1% of the new cases of Covid-19 are among unvaccinated. 

The highest number of new infections was reported in Sofia-346, followed by Plovdiv-110 and Varna-107. 5,217 patients are being treated in hospital, 465 of them in intensive care units. 90.2% of the new Covid-19 hospitalizations are among unvaccinated. 26 people have died and 359 have been reported cured in the past day. There are 45,899 active cases of Covid-19.

A mere 2,283 vaccine doses were administered in Bulgaria on Saturday, bringing the total number of inoculations against Covid-19 to 2,548,995. 1,336,437 people have completed the immunization process.
