The deficit of the National Palace of Culture is huge-nearly EUR 45 million, Bulgaria’s caretaker Minister of Culture Velislav Minekov said in an interview for the BNR. In his words, one of the ways to reduce the deficit of the NPC is to vacate the two floors of the building occupied by the former ruling party GERB.

According to Minister Minekov, this party does not pay anything to the National Palace of Culture. Professor Minekov also commented on the need for a new Radio and Television Act. “The old Radio and Television Act was designed to suit every government, which could lead to oppression and damage the freedom of media”, Velislav Minekov noted.
