In a videoconference meeting with Bulgaria’s caretaker Minister of Health Stoycho Katsarov, European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Stella Kyriakides expressed concern about the epidemic situation in Bulgaria. She suggested that the EU Civil Protection Mechanism be activated, in order to provide Bulgaria with coordinated assistance to control the spread of Covid-19.

Commissioner Kyriakides added that she supported the additional anti-epidemic measures introduced by Bulgaria’s authorities to contain the spread of Covid-19, including the mandating of a Covid-19 Green Certificate. “Our joint objective is to increase vaccination rate in Bulgaria”, Commissioner Stella Kyriakides pointed out.
