TUs demand that some of the new anti-Covid measures be repealed

The two biggest trade unions in Bulgaria, the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions and Podkrepa, have demanded that Minister of Health Dr. Stoycho Katsarov repeal the requirement for medical staff at hospitals and care homes to be allowed to go to work only if they have a green Covid-19 certificate. The trade unions say that this means denying workers access to their workplaces.

The National Health Insurance Fund has decided to allow GPs to write prescriptions for free medication for Covid-19, Deputy Minister Dr. Alexander Zlatanov announced. The prescriptions will be electronic, and only for patients who have medical insurance. The Fund has also decided to provide additional financing to medical establishments with more than 10% of beds for coronavirus patients.
