The Bulgarian National Bank - BNB has put into circulation a partially gold-plated silver commemorative coin of the Medieval Bulgarian Rulers Series, dedicated to Khan Omurtag. The face value is BGN 10 (EUR 5) and is sold for BGN 96 or EUR 47. Until November 10, the sale is limited to two coins per customer, after which the coin will be sold without restrictions.

On one side of the coin we see the image of the ruler taken from his seal and placed in a gilded medallion. On the opposite side there are images of a column with inscription about the construction undertaken by him and of the ruler on his throne, as depicted in a miniature from The Chronicles of John Skylitzes.
