The situation in the Western Balkans is worrying: Foreign Minister Svetlan Stoev

Svetlan Stoev (L) at the Foreign Affairs Council

“The situation in the Western Balkans is worrying. In recent months we have seen mounting tension in Bosnia and Herzegovina, between Kosovo and Serbia. There is political instability in the Republic of North Macedonia. The EU must make use of all instruments available to support the internal political dialogue in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the normal functioning of the institutions,” Bulgaria’s caretaker Foreign Minister Svetlan Stoev said at the regular sitting of the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels.

Bulgaria expressed full support and solidarity with Poland, Lithuania and Latvia with regard to the migrant crisis with Belarus, and supported the sanctions against Minsk.
