The number of Bulgarians making tourist trips during the active summer tourist season exceeds 1.3 million

The number of Bulgarians making tourist trips in the third quarter of 2021 reached 1,327,700, the National Statistical Institute announced.

95.5% of Bulgarians made trips in Bulgaria and 4% made trips abroad. Only 0.5% made trips in Bulgaria and abroad.

In July, August and September 2021, Bulgarian citizens aged 15 and over spent an average of EUR 197 on trips in Bulgaria and EUR 335 on a travel abroad. Food costs account for 39.6% of all expenses made during a trip in Bulgaria, while transport costs account for 33.8% of the expenses made during a trip abroad.
