A bee farm from the Strandzha village of Indzhe Voivoda has won the first prize in the category of farm sustainability at the European Congress of Young Farmers. The owners of the farm are the family of Dimitar Stanchev and Ralitsa Stancheva, who are also engaged in organic production of fruit and vegetables. The international competition was attended by farmers from 14 European countries, who competed in three categories.
The farm was established in 2009 and manages 2,200 beehives.
