The price of electricity for household consumers should increase by an average of 11.51% from January 1, 2022. This has been proposed by a working expert group to the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation.

At the same time, businesses have stated that they demand BGN 217 /EUR 111/ compensation per MWh for non-household consumers for December. The proposal was sent in a letter to the Prime Minister and the Ministers of Finance, Economy and Energy, Vasil Velev from the Industrial Capital Association told BNR.

Until tomorrow, the government will analyze the Commission's proposal for the price of electricity, said Prime Minister Kiril Petkov and said: "We will analyze why it happened right now, after we ourselves said that our first priority was not to have this happen."
