Bulgaria will ask the European Commission for permission to submit its draft for Strategic Development of Agriculture until 2027 with a delay.

It should have been ready by January 1, 2022 but due to the political crisis, there has been a delay in its preparation. Some of the proposals in the document cause sharp dissatisfaction among farmers, co-chairman of the National Sheep Breeding Association Simeon Karakolev has told BNR.

"There are quite a few Member States that will not be ready with their strategic plans, so we will not be the only ones," Karakolev added.

The last meeting of the working group for 2021 is on December 21 when the most controversial topic related to the amount of subsidies will be discussed.
