Bulgaria registers slight drop in new infections, hospitalizations

Bulgaria has recorded 1,883 new cases of coronavirus in the country for the last day, or 117 less than a day earlier. 79.5% of newly infected persons have not been vaccinated. 5% are the positive samples from the 35,809 tests performed, data from the National Coronavirus Information Portal reports.

There are currently 95,868 registered active patients in Bulgaria. The number of patients in hospitals has dropped to 4,300 as 493 people are in intensive care. 424 persons are newly admitted to hospitals. 85% of them are not immunized.

In the last 24 hours, 65 people with established Covid infection have died. 56 of them were not vaccinated. 

19,003 vaccines were administered on Tuesday. There are now 1,884,528 Bulgarians with completed immunization. A total of 236,134 people have received a booster dose.

There are already 10 districts in the country that are in the yellow zone of morbidity with less than 250 infections per 100,000 people in the last 14 days. Only Kardzhali district is in the green zone.
