The Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) warns of frequent cases of e-mails received from citizens, seemingly sent on behalf of the central bank for remittances received at the BNB in their name. The BNB informs that it does not send such messages and they are a classic form of "phishing" attack and fraud, using the name of a recognizable institution. The messages received "on behalf of the BNB" were sent from servers outside Bulgaria and contain a link to a site for theft of sensitive customer personal information and bank card information.
