Daily Covid-19 infections surge to 3,616, positivity rate - to 11%

3,616 is the number of Covid-19 cases confirmed out of 33,334 tests performed in the country in the past 24 hours, 167 more than a day earlier. 75.8% of the newly registered cases of coronavirus infection are among the unvaccinated. The positivity rate has surged to almost 11%, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data show. The number of active Covid-19 cases in the country has also gone up – to 101,579.

4,100 patients are being treated in hospital, 467 of them in intensive care. 87% of the 550 new hospital admissions are among the unvaccinated.

71 patients with confirmed Covid-19 have died in the past day, 66 of them were not vaccinated.

1,105 is the number of recoveries reported in the past 24 hours.

14,591 doses of vaccine were administered on Thursday. 1,913,988 is the number of people in Bulgaria with a completed immunization cycle, 272,721 of them have taken a booster shot.
