Mummers from Pernik region brought the magic of the International Festival of Masquerade Games Surva to Boris’ Garden in Sofia. Nearly 200 people took part at the mummers parade.

Local craftsmen showed how mummer masks are made. “The mummers are sending wishes for health and fertility and their messages aim to ward off evil spirits", Ivanka Vasileva from the Municipality of Pernik said. "More children were included in the mummers groups this year, which is an evidence that the tradition in Pernik region continues", Ivanka Vasileva added.
