60.9% of Bulgarians believe that the Republic of North Macedonia should become a member of the EU. According to 32.2%, it should not join the union, and 6.9% have no opinion. This is the result of a poll conducted by the sociological agency "Alpha Research" for BNT.
Nearly 62% of respondents said the new Bulgarian government should maintain its current position, but upgrade it in order to unblock EU membership talks. According to just over 12% of the respondents, the current positions should be kept, and according to almost 26%, a completely new position should be built. Topics to be included in the negotiations with North Macedonia before a decision is made to lift the veto are history (80%), education and culture (76%), economics (65.5%), transport links (65.5%) and infrastructure (63%), the study shows.
