According to Kiril Petkov, Tsatsarov is under investigation by the agency and the permit was revoked in the course of a security check after data obtained from counterintelligence. The Prime Minister has told BNT that he did not know if there was a link between the resignation and losing the right to access to information, but he hoped this was not the case.
