The number of hospital beds for the treatment of Covid-19 patients in Sofia will be increased by around 10% this week, Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova wrote on Facebook.
Out of the 1,878 Covid-beds created so far, the occupancy rate of the beds for patients without complications is 63%, and of intensive care beds - 71%. The increase in the number of beds will take place on the basis of hospitals’ capacity to provide medical staff, Mayor Fandakova points out. Schools and kindergartens in Sofia remain open. Yordanka Fandakova adds that control of mask wearing on public transport will be tightened.
