Bulgaria reports sharp decrease in daily Covid-19 recoveries

8,932 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Bulgaria in the past 24 hours out of 29,445 tests performed, down by 1,228 from the previous day, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data indicate. More than 22% of the tests have returned positive result. 77% of the new cases are among the unvaccinated.

The number of active cases of Covid-19 increased with 8,464 to 187,765. 529 patients have been admitted to hospital. 81.5% of the new hospitalizations are among the unvaccinated. 5,198 patients are being treated in hospital, including 530 in intensive care units.

87 people with established covonavirus infection have died in the past day. 78 of them were not immunized. Only 381 people have been reported cured. There was a twofold decrease in the number of daily recoveries as compared to the previous day.

19,191 vaccines were administered on Thursday. 1,973,224 is the number of people in the country with a completed vaccination cycle. 555,333 have had a booster shot.
