Natural gas will play a significant role in the decarbonisation process in South-East Europe and will contribute directly to rapid energy transition. This is what the Minister of Energy Alexander Nikolov told the participants in the 8th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council in Baku.

Minister Nikolov emphasized the role of the Southern Gas Corridor in diversifying the sources and routes for natural gas supply to European countries. Stable supplies from our strategic partner Azerbaijan are a key factor in mitigating the negative effects on the economy caused by high energy prices, Minister Nikolov said. According to him, in this context Bulgaria is interested in receiving additional quantities from Azerbaijan.
