Prof. Iva Hristova: The end of the 5th Covid-19 wave can be seen

The cases of coronavirus are decreasing, the end of the 5th epidemic wave in Bulgaria is visible, Prof. Iva Hristova, director of the National Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, told bTV. According to her, at the end of February we will have less than 2,000 new infections a day. 

"The new sub-variant of Omicron will not change this picture," she said. 
Iva Hristova predicts that from April, the Covid the wave will be gone and we will have months of peace. It is not clear what will happen in the autumn but in any case, "the pandemic is going to subside and turn into separate endemic nests of the disease."
