At an emergency briefing this morning, Minister of Energy Alexander Nikolov announced that there was a coordinated attack against the new management of the state-owned company Bulgargaz, after the old management was completely replaced a week ago.
The reason for the briefing was information spread yesterday by former Energy Minister Rumen Ovcharov about a deal by the company for the sale of 60,000 megawatt hours of gas to Romania on the gas exchange. At the briefing, Minister Nikolov confirmed Bulgargaz's answer that it actually sold 37,000 megawatt hours in order to improve the company's financial condition. The GERB party said it would ask for an extraordinary parliamentary committee to be convened on the case.
