During his visit to Sofia, Derek Chollet conferred with Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev, this country’s Minister of Defense Stefan Yanev and Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodora Genchovska. Mr. Chollet hailed the results of his talks with members of the Bulgarian government. "The United States welcomes the ambitious agenda of the new Bulgarian cabinet and look forwards to supporting them as they tackle the COVID-19 pandemic, corruption, climate change, energy diversification and other key issues", the Councilor of the United States Department of State Derek Chollet noted.
