Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev expressed skepticism about whether the Supreme Judicial Council could take a decision to dismiss this country’s Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev. On the other hand, Bulgaria’s head of state expressed satisfaction that the Constitutional Court ruled that the Minister of Justice can propose the early dismissal of the Prosecutor General. The court handed down the judgement at the request of former caretaker Minister of Justice Yanaki Stoilov.
According to President Radev, the question now is whether the majority in the Supreme Judicial Council is morally and professionally fit to do this.
