Bulgarian Parliament adopts at first reading the budget of the Social Security service

After more than four hours of discussions, the MPs adopted at first reading the Social Security Act with 129 votes in favour, 92 against and no abstentions. 

Among the planned changes is the increase of the minimum wage from 650 (332.34 EUR) to 710 BGN (363.02 EUR)

The minimum insurance income of agricultural producers has been increased from 420 (EUR 214.74) to BGN 710 (EUR 363.02). 

The minimum insurance threshold, including for self-insured persons, reaches BGN 710 (EUR 363.02). The maximum insurance income increases from BGN 3,000 (EUR 1,533.88) to BGN 3,400 (EUR 1,738.39). 

It is planned to increase pensions from July 1 by 6.1%, which means the minimum pension will be BGN 392.57 (EUR 200.72). From the same date the social pension should become BGN 180.37 (EUR 92.22). The pension ceiling remains at BGN 1,500 (EUR 766.94).
