Bulgaria's Finance and Energy Ministers Assen Vassilev and Alexander Nikolov discussed the diversification of energy supplies to Bulgaria at the White House in Washington. This was also a leading topic during the meetings in the departments of energy and trade, the US Embassy in Sofia announced on Facebook.

"This visit underscores the commitment of President Biden's administration to Europe's energy security and sustainability and to accelerating the global transition to clean energy," the statement said.

The Bulgarian business delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Assen Vassilev, paid tribute to Vasil Levski in front of his monument in Washington. The US Ambassador to Bulgaria Herro Mustafa is with the delegation.

In the state of Pennsylvania, the delegation is to meet with representatives of the Westinghouse company to discuss the diversification of nuclear fuel supplies in Bulgaria. In the state of Texas, the production of electricity from renewable sources and the supply of liquefied natural gas will be discussed with local companies. The Bulgarian delegation will also talk to potential investors in information technology, infrastructure development and other joint projects, the US Embassy announced.
