I hope that the majority in the parliament and the government are enlightened people, convinced that more funds for Bulgarian science, culture and education are not a whim, but a necessity, said Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Iotova at the opening of the exhibition "Bulgarian Archeology 2021".

"Society needs to understand that museums and galleries preserve our national wealth which makes us distinctive and significant," Prof. Dr. Svetla Dimitrova, director of the Etara Ethnographic Museum, told BNR.
With the 5% salary increase planned in the new state budget, museums cannot attract specialists. That is why Etara supports the protest of the workers in the museums and galleries for higher funding, Dimitrova explained.
