“What’s going on in this country”, Kerana and the Cosmonauts ask

Kerana and the Cosmonauts is a relatively new band with appearances at festivals and clubs in Bulgaria. Kerana is the stage name of the lead singer, and the “cosmonauts” are: Pavel Vidov – guitar, Elena Ilcheva – bass, Preslav Peev and Nikolai Bobchev – saxophone, Dimitar Penchev – drums, and Stoil (Stu) Ivanov, who steps into all kinds of shoes, so the band puts him down as +1.

Their music is dynamic, a blend of reggae, ska, punk, funk, hip-hop.

“What’s going on” is a song from the album the band released last year - Ursa Minor. The music and the arrangement are by all band members, and the lyrics are by Kerena: “Monday to Friday I work so hard, saving up money for things solid - a new car,” they go.

Of course, the humdrum life is broken by holidays by the sea, TV nights to “switch the head off”, loud music and, most of all, the questions so many people ask themselves: “What’s going on in this country? Should I watch, or should I go? Something new to discover or one more time to take cover?”
