"All countries will lose from a full-scale conflict between Russia and Ukraine", Ivailo Kalfin, former Minister of Foreifn Affairs, contends.

"If war breaks out, Russia will have NATO on its borders, because Ukraine will be quickly admitted to the North Atlantic Alliance", said Ivailo Kalfin. “The embargo on Russia could cause severe economic damages”, Ivailo Kalfin said for bTV. “Russia supplies about 40% of the EU’s natural gas imports. However, Russia exports 80% of its natural gas to the European market and it will be detrimental to Moscow, if it loses this market”.

“I do not expect a direct Russian invasion in Ukraine. This conflict will most likely take place within the eastern provinces. At this stage, Russia’s benefits from a possible war are much smaller than losses.”
