Bulgaria to negotiate with Azerbaijan in case of hindered supply of Russian natural gas

Bulgaria will negotiate with Azerbaijan for additional quantities of natural gas if there is a problem with Russian supplies of natural gas, said Energy Minister Alexander Nikolov in the relevant parliamentary committee. According to him, there is a possibility for delivery from alternative routes, including the Southern Gas Corridor.

Nikolov said Bulgaria could also supply liquefied gas through Eleusis, Greece.
Currently, Bulgaria is the only net exporter of electricity against the background of the war in Ukraine, but if it comes to the supply of reduced quantities of natural gas, this will be compensated "by keeping electricity inside Bulgaria to the maximum."
