The military actions in Ukraine do not currently pose a direct military threat to Bulgaria, but preventive actions of the institutions are needed to limit the possible risks to Bulgaria's national security. The participants in a working meeting in the presidential institution have united around this position - among them the Prime Minister, ministers, the chairmen of the security services, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior.

"The readiness of the national security system to respond to the development of various scenarios of the crisis in Ukraine and the adoption of measures to protect the security of citizens were among the highlights of the meeting," the presidency said in a statement.

The issue of providing sustainable support to Bulgarian and Ukrainian citizens who sought refuge in Bulgaria was also discussed.
