Bulgarian Red Cross opens toll-free hotline to help Ukrainian refugees

Photo: archive

No green corridors for evacuation of civilians from besieged Ukrainian cities have been opened yet, said Anton Kisse, Member of the Verkhovka Rada. 50 more people are travelling from Odessa to Bulgaria. There is huge shortage of medicines in Ukraine, Anton Kisse further said.

Ukraine said on Monday that a Russian proposal on humanitarian corridors was “completely immoral” after Moscow suggested it would allow people to flee Ukrainian cities provided they exited to Belarus or Russia.

On March 7, Bulgaria has opened a toll-free hotline in support of Ukrainian refugees. Between 8.00 am and 20.00 pm, consultants and volunteers from the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) will provide the needy with information on the following phone number: 0800 20101. Ukrainian volunteers will provide information in Ukrainian and Russian.

Citizens can also contact the BRC at the following email address:  help@redcross.bg
