35 people were killed and 130 were wounded in a missile attack against a military base near the city of Lviv, BBC reports. Earlier, Ukraine’s authorities announced that 9 people had died and 57 had been wounded in a Russian missile attack in the town of Yavoriv, Lviv region, near Poland.

The Russian forces are approaching the capital Kyiv. Kyiv’s city administration said it had set aside a two-week reserve of essential food items in case the city is blockaded by Russian forces. Ukraine’s Defense Minister, Oleksiy Reznikov, repeated his government’s calls for allies to establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine.

An American journalist was shot and killed by Russian forces in the town of Irpin, and another journalist was wounded, Reuters reports.

Russia lost access to half of its reserves due to the increased pressure from the West on China, said Russia’s Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov. “The total volume of our reserves is USD 640 billion, and about USD 300 billion are in such condition that we cannot use them now”, Minister Siluanov told the state television on Sunday. ”The western countries are putting pressure on China to limit the access to reserves in yuan. Russia will repay its external obligations in rubles until its gold and foreign exchange reserves are unfrozen”, Anton Siluanov said further.
