The state-owned company Bulgargaz wants a record 58% increase in the price of natural gas in April, arguing that the war in Ukraine has increased natural gas prices on European exchanges.
If the State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission approves the request, prices per megawatt-hour will increase from the current 58 euros to over 92 euros, not including fees and charges.
With such an increase in natural gas prices, according to the pricing ordinance, electricity and heating prices will also rise, after a moratorium to freeze prices at the December 16 level expires on March 31.
