Ruling coalition will not break apart over the war in Ukraine, PM Petkov says

Institutions in Bulgaria had been a subject to a takeover and this happened mainly because of the prosecutor's office, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said after a meeting with business representatives on the crisis in Ukraine and the consequences for Europe and Bulgaria.

The Prime Minister said that he would not break the coalition with the Bulgarian Socialist Party - BSP and shake the hand of the opposition GERB. PM Petkov thanked the BSP for differentiating between love for Russia and the regime of Vladimir Putin. The prime minister criticized mistakes in the country's preparations for welcoming refugees, but said the government had managed to readjust the system.

The gas crisis is a dimension of the war and the result of a well-planned Russian strategy, the prime minister added.
