Laura Kovesi is arriving in Bulgaria at the invitation of PM Kiril Petkov

The European Chief Prosecutor Laura Kovesi is arriving in Bulgaria today at the invitation of Prime Minister Kiril Petkov. The two will discuss the government's priorities for fighting corruption and judicial reform, as well as co-operation between the two institutions. 

Petkov announced that the Council of Ministers was to become a direct point of contact with the European Public Prosecutor's Office. This means that the government's signals related to corruption and misuse of European funds will be sent directly, without intermediaries, to the European Public Prosecutor's Office. 

Laura Kovesi will also talk to Justice Minister Nadezhda Yordanova.
