Fugitive businessman Vassil Bojkov, who is hiding out in Dubai after being charged on 18 counts in Bulgaria, alleges that the arrests of high-ranking individuals from the opposition GERB party took place after he gave testimony to the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, 24 Chasa newspaper writes.

On Facebook, Bojkov wrote: “For 2 years (prosecutor general) Geshev did everything he could to get his cronies off the hook, after I provided hard evidence of the biggest extortion in the history of Bulgaria. After my report and my testimony before the European Public Prosecutor’s Office from the past month, at long last Boyko Borissov, Vladislav Goranov and Menda Stoyanova were arrested today. The truth always comes to light.”
