Nearly 38,000 Ukrainian citizens have entered Bulgaria since the start of the war in Ukraine on 24 February, portal "Bulgaria for Ukraine" reports. 9,900 Ukrainian refugees have been granted temporary protection status. More than 39,400 people have been accommodated in hotels.

Some 55,000 refugees have remained in the country, 20,000 of them children. Bulgarian schools have the capacity to accept up to 63,000 Ukrainian pupils. By 25 March, 365 applications had been submitted. Of these, nearly 100 children are already enrolled in Bulgarian schools.

The immunization calendar for Ukrainian children differs from the Bulgarian one - this poses a problem with enrolment, Education Minister Nikolai Denkov told BNT.
