Mass № 3 (Große Messe) in F minor by Anton Bruckner will be performed on the stage of Bulgaria Hall in Sofia on March 29. A prominent representative of Austrian music culture and recognized as one of the greatest symphonists of Romanticism, Bruckner left a remarkable creative legacy. Together with his nine symphonies, Mass № 3, which the composer edited for many years, became very popular. The work is for symphony orchestra, choir, organ and soloists - a total of over 130 musicians.
Performers in the concert in Sofia are the Pleven Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Philharmonic Choir "Svetoslav Obretenov" and soloists Vera Girginova - soprano, Violeta Radomirska - alto, Georgi Sultanov - tenor, and Svilen Nikolov - bass. Conductor of the choir is Slavil Dimitrov, and of the entire concert - Yordan Kamdzhalov. Maestro Kamdzhalov will open the concert with an introduction, in which he will present key formulas and composition techniques that the composer applied in the work. "This will ensure a more conscious perception by the audience on an intellectual and emotional level," he has told the BNR.
This is the second performance of the work by the two ensembles that presented it for the first time two years ago. In the turbulent days we live in such large-scale works with a strong philosophical and emotional charge undoubtedly give strength to the prayers and messages for peace that people around the world send.
